Become a Maryland Climate Corps

Host Site Partner

The Maryland Climate Corps offers recent Maryland High School Graduates and GED recipients the opportunity to get involved protecting their community from the impacts of climate change while receiving the workforce training necessary to access a well-paying green job after their service.

An initiative of the Department of Service and Civic Innovation, Climate Corps Fellows will engage in activities that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, build green infrastructure, and improve community resilience to climate disasters. The program will prioritize environmental justice strategies for communities who often face the worst effects of climate change.

For the 2nd year of the Maryland Climate Corps Program, the Chesapeake Bay Trust and the Maryland Department of Service and Civic Innovation anticipates placing a minimum of 40 Climate Corps Fellows for a full-time (approximately 40 hours a week), service term of 9 ½ months from September 2025 to June 2026. Climate Corps Fellows will receive a living stipend equivalent to $15/hour or $600 a week for the duration of the program, which will be paid bi-weekly. Upon completion of the service term, Climate Corps Fellows will receive a $6,000 completion award that will be paid out by DSCI as a taxable cash stipend.
