Anne Arundel County Community Tree Planting Mini Grant Program

The Anne Arundel County Forestry Board and the Chesapeake Bay Trust announce a partnership to provide small community-based grants (up to $5,000) to help communities and organizations increase the number of trees and tree canopy in neighborhoods, parks, and communities throughout Anne Arundel County. Neighborhood by neighborhood, community stewardship projects are helping to raise public awareness about the health of our region’s tree canopy, watersheds, air quality, streams, rivers, and the Bay, as well as the steps that can be taken to restore and protect them.

What this funds: Community tree plantings and invasive species removal in Anne Arundel County.

Who can apply: Non-profit organizations, community associations, faith-based organizations and more.

How much can be awarded:
Up to $5,000 per project.

Is match required? Match is encouraged, but not required.

Grant Application Process: The Chesapeake Bay Trust’s grant applications are all submitted through an online system. Use the “New Grant” button under the “Start a New Application” section, to the right, to begin your online application. You are able to save your application and come back to it any time. FY24 Anne Arundel County Forestry Board Meeting Dates

All applications submitted through the Anne Arundel County Community Tree Planting Mini Grant Program are reviewed by internal expert reviewers and the Anne Arundel County Forestry Board for approval. Applications should be submitted to the Trust at least 8 weeks prior to the start date of your project and at least 4 weeks before a Forestry Board meeting, if possible.

    Yes!
  2. Can this grant program cover the cost of removing dead or dying trees?
    No, you cannot use this grant funding to cover the cost of removing dead or dying trees.
