Panelists will delve into the history of invasives and the reality of the blue catfish surge from fishhook to table; give an insider’s look into recent discourse on the issue; and delve into the policy bottlenecks and other barriers keeping blue catfish from becoming a restaurant staple.

Panelists will delve into connections between public/community health and time spent outdoors; explore leading science; make recommendations on how hospital systems, insurance companies, and others can provide or even incentivize green space access and outdoor recreation; and recognize leading efforts to address overlapping environmental and health injustices in the region.

Panelists will share on practices available to individual homeowners, HOAs, business owners, and others taking action on shared properties. Particulars will include rain and pollinator gardens, native plantings, invasives removal, composting, replacing impervious parking surface with permeable material, and more. Panelists will focus on the community stewardship impact driven by collective actions.

This one-day festival highlighted all of Maryland’s best and most famous offerings!
Proceeds from the Made in Maryland Festival help support our mission to engage and empower diverse groups to take actions that enrich natural resources and local communities of the Chesapeake Bay region.
This tour featured on-the-ground stormwater management practices to see how outreach and engagement activities involve County residents in the work of restoration.

The Great Chesapeake Bay Swim is one of America’s premier open water swim challenges, spanning 4.4 miles across the Bay!
A portion of the proceeds from this event support our work. We were honored to be onsite to support the competitors.
We partnered with the Bowie Baysox on May 26th for a special game to celebrate and protect the Chesapeake Bay!
Ticket sales supported our work to empower more people and communities to restore nature.
