
The Chesapeake Bay Trust (the Trust) is proud to partner with the City of Annapolis on their Electric Leaf Blower Rebate Program. Per the City of Annapolis Ordinance 28-23, the use of gasoline-powered leaf blowers within the city is prohibited effective December 30, 2024. Please note that reimbursements may be requested for purchases made on or after November 30, 2024 (one month before the effective date). The transition to electric leaf blowers supports better human and environmental health through multiple co-benefits, including:
- Reduced noxious fumes in the community.
- Carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter may cause: respiratory issues, cardiovascular problems, and certain cancers.
- Reduced noise: Better for your ears and the local environment.
What this funds: Reimbursements for the purchase of leaf blowers which are electric and emit sound less than or equal to 65 decibels.
Eligibility: Single-family (including townhomes) property owners, renters, including religious institutions, private schools, homeowners associations (HOA) and condominium associations, landscape contractors, and lawncare businesses, can receive up to one rebate for the approved purchase of an electric-powered leaf blower. Verify your location within the City of Annapolis using this map to confirm your eligibility. The leaf blower ban was effective December 30,2024; please note that reimbursements may be requested for purchases made on or after November 30, 2024 (one month before the effective date).
- Residents and nonprofits are eligible for one rebate of up to $100.
- Landscape contractors and lawncare businesses are eligible for one rebate up to $1,500.
The rebate amount will be dependent upon final proof of purchase and receipts/invoices for costs associated with the electric leaf blower. A rebate request cannot exceed the cost of the leaf blower.

Funds are available on a first come, first served basis, and demand for the program this fiscal year has been high.
Deadline: Rolling. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.

Applications are processed within two weeks of submission and the applicant will receive an email with next steps.
